When brainstorming what they could do to bring something different to the Commodities trading community, Alessandro & Mathilde had this crazy idea of launching an open water swimming club.
Today the club counts more than one hundred members.

Mathilde de Mareuil
co-founder
Mathilde is the CEO of the headhunting company Shipping & Trading Network, active in all commodities trading roles - both physical and derivatives - in oil & gas, metals, and grains including roles in banking and finance.
She is also Vice President at WISTA Switzerland, an organisation supporting women in the industry.
Mathilde is the founder of CommodityThursdays, the regular networking drinks in Geneva, Dubai, Singapore, Miami, and Paris.
Mathilde is a regular speaker at conferences where she discusses talent acquisition/retention, gender equality and how to attract the best talent.
Mathilde has been ice water swimming for years and regularly participates in international swimming competitions. She is passionate about the benefits of ice water swimming for the mind and body and that’s why she co-founded the club with Alessandro to share the passion with the commodities trading community.

Alessandro Sanos
co-founder
Alessandro is heading the global revenue and Go To Market (GTM) strategy function of LSEG’s Commodities, Energy, and Shipping offering of market insights, analytics, and data management.
Before joining the London Stock Exchange Group, he worked for PwC in Greece covering the shipping and energy market, and for JPMorgan Chase in the United Kingdom.
Alessandro is the Managing Director for LSEG in Geneva and regularly contributes to leading industry events and financial publications on data and market trends.
A university lecturer on data, technology, and innovation, Alessandro sits on the Executive Committee of GARP for Switzerland, on the ExCom of the Geneva Energy Forum, and is the Emeritus Chapter Head of the CAIA Association in Switzerland.
